Future Goalie (Project 366, Day 74)

Future Hockey Player

Today after I picked Nate up from the park where he was playing with his daycare friends, we came home to find some of the big boys on our street playing ball hockey out front. Nate and I went to say hello and he happily picked up hockey sticks and hit the ball with the kids, who were really very nice and encouraged him to play with them.

Nate and I are both pretty tired today…he was up in the night from about 2:30 until 4:00 last night, talking feverishly about bot-bots, the park, the kids, seeing trucks, basically all of the things we experienced yesterday while out in the spring air. I gave him some Tylenol and waited for him to fall back to sleep.

While we were out with the kids, one of the boys asked if I would let Nate be a hockey player and I told him that if it meant getting up at 6:00 in the morning, then the answer is no.

We’ll be encouraging soccer.

I don’t understand where that little hockey player came from. Wasn’t he just born and now he’s playing hockey?

I passed up Tee ball for Nate this season because I didn’t want to waste our spring and summer Saturdays at the field. Lol We’ll give in eventually.
