Project 366 – Day 41: Jules Bistro and Some Other Stuff

Jules Bistro

by Amy on February 10, 2012

Today I had lunch in Toronto with a couple of lovely ladies (you know who you are) at a restaurant called Jules Bistro. Delicious. I especially loved the blackboard that runs the whole length of the place and is used as a menu board. It must be the teacher in me that is drawn to blackboards.

I’d like to be able to keep this post light-hearted about lunch but I actually feel awful right now. Before bed tonight Nate hit me in the face and pulled my hair and I yelled “NO” at him loud and scary-like. I have no tolerance for any of that kind of thing and I know I was right to tell him no, but I feel like a horrible mother for the way I yelled. I made him cry. What kind of mother does that? No two-year-old deserves to be yelled at like that. We said our “sorries” and had kisses before he went to sleep, but I will always remember how my own voice sounded so foreign and cold and mean in my own ears and I will never do that again. I hope.
